Job summary

Abbeville Fiber LLC in Alabama is seeking a dependable team member to move trailers, operate a forklift, and prepare trailers for loading and unloading. The role requires precise handling, attention to safety, and the ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.

You will position forks and lifting devices under pallets, unload materials, inventory on the floor, and ensure loads are secured and routed to the correct area, supporting smooth production flows.

Qualifications

• Experience operating machinery including forklift.

• Record weights on tags or production schedules.

Summary

Responsible for moving and transporting trailers and ensuring trailers are ready for loading and unloading. May drive industrial forklift truckto push, pull, lift, stack, tier, or move products, equipment, or materials by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Operate machinery including forklift as needed
• Move trailers into specific locations for loading and unloading
• Moves levers and presses pedals to drive truck and control movement of lifting apparatus.
• Positions forks, lifting platform, or other lifting device under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, products, or materials and transports load to designated area.
• Unloads and stacks material by raising and lowering lifting device.
• Inventories materials on work floor, and supplies workers with materials as needed.
• Weighs materials or products and records weight on tags, labels, or production schedules.
• Unloads material from commercial truck flatbed trailers, stages material in the white yard inventory, and loads product onto tram for processing.
• Monitors trams and production of cylinders to ensure efficient flow of material through equipment.
• Lubricates truck, recharges batteries, and fills fuel tank.
• Assists in housekeeping and clean-up activities as needed.
• Assists in picking up lumber and other materials due to spills.
• Keeps material stacked evenly, safely and in an organized manner.
