Job summary

VIP Staffing is seeking a Class A CDL Driver for a yard driving position on the southside of San Antonio. The role runs Monday through Friday, 6 AM–6 PM, with pay of $20 per hour.

The driver will move trailers between loading docks, inspect vehicles for safety, and maintain logs in accordance with state and federal regulations. Overtime and weekend shifts may be required.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL required.
• 1–3 years of experience operating trucks or shunts.
• Must be available for overtime and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Move trailers between bays at loading docks.
• Check vehicles for mechanical and safety equipment.
• Maintain logs of hours and vehicle service per regulations.
• Read bills of lading to determine assignments.
• Report vehicle defects, accidents, or damage.
• Maneuver trucks into loading/unloading positions with signals.
• Drive trucks over 13 tons, including tractor-trailers.
• Check trailers after unloading for damage.
• Load or unload trucks or assist others with loading.

Currently seeking a Class A CDL Driver for a yard driving position is on the southside of San Antonio.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Mon-Fri (AM & PM) 6-6.
• Pay is $20/hr.

Responsibilities:

• Move trailers from bay to bay at loading docks
• Check vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order.
• Maintain logs of working hours or of vehicle service or repair status, following applicable state and federal regulations.
• Read bills of lading to determine assignment details.
• Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles.
• Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crew and checking that vehicle and loading equipment are properly positioned.
• Drive trucks with capacities greater than 13 tons, including tractor-trailer combinations, to transport and deliver products.
• Check conditions of trailers after contents have been unloaded to ensure that there has been no damage.
• Load or unload trucks or help others with loading or unloading, using special loading-related equipment or other equipment as necessary.

Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent, preferred.
• 1-3 years of recent experience operating truck/shunts.
• Must be available to work overtime and weekends as required
