Job summary

Fabick Cat, a Caterpillar dealer, seeks an Inventory Coordinator to manage inbound/outbound assets and support divisions across the campus. You will barcode equipment, reconcile discrepancies, and maintain yard organization to ensure stock accuracy.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, 3+ years in yard duties or shipping/receiving, and strong customer service. Heavy equipment experience is required, with lifting up to 75 pounds when needed.

Qualifications

  • 3 or more years of experience in operating of heavy machinery, shipping, receiving and general yard duties required.
  • Strong Customer service skills required.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate shipping of equipment as needed across the yard.
  • Initiate and complete INSPCT templates for loss mitigation.
  • Receive, barcode, and attach equipment and attachment records.
  • Prepare equipment for showings and verify accuracy of incoming/outgoing shipments.
  • Conduct monthly inventory audits and reconcile reports.
  • Maintain an organized, debris-free yard and comply with safety rules.

Job Purpose

The purpose of this position is to facilitate and maintain orderly and efficient flow of inventory for the entire Fabick campus to which the new hire is employed. This individual is responsible for the inflow and outflow of customer assets; as well as, Fabick assets across all divisions. This position will work to serve and satisfy the needs of multiple divisions for the greater good of the entire enterprise.

Job Responsibilities
  • Coordinate when required the shipping of new, used, rental, demo, and serviced customer equipment.
  • Responsible for initiating when needed and completing INSPCT templates for the purpose of loss mitigation of both Fabick, and our customers.
  • Receive new equipment and associated attachments per defined business process. Assign, print and attach barcodes to equipment and attachment.
  • Generate and send receiver for new and used machines to Sales Dept per defined business process.
  • Assist in the preparation and presentation of equipment to showcase to customers
  • Conduct investigations to verify and resolve shipping and receiving errors
  • Comply with administrative policies and procedures, safety rules, and government regulations.
  • Examine contents and compare with records, such as manifests, invoices, or orders, to verify accuracy of incoming or outgoing shipment.
  • Take pictures of the equipment, and ensure all machines meet Fabick quality standards before leaving the yard; check equipment for accuracy of the following: serial numbers, correct hour meter reading, attachments, and any damage on returned equipment.
  • Take pictures of damage as needed; when damage is identified, notify the appropriate department head in conjunction with sending all supporting documentation immediately.
  • Conduct monthly physical inventory audits for location to which you are employed. Make sure all equipment and attachments are barcoded and scanned.
  • Reconcile inventory reports and locate missing items.
  • Submit inventory reports and communicate disparities to Department heads.
  • Maintain an organized the yard keeping it free from excessive debris and trash.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Qualifications
  • Minimum education requirement is a high school diploma or GED. Technical, vocational, or trade school education desired.
  • 3 or more years of experience in operating of heavy machinery, shipping, receiving and general yard duties required.
  • Strong Customer service skills required
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to move equipment around the yard required.
  • Ability to manage time and multi-task with little to no supervision required
  • Must have heavy equipment experience
  • Exhibit a high level of urgency and ownership
Physical Requirements

In addition to being able to sit, stand, walk, read, talk, write and hear, to perform the essential functions of this job an individual must be able to do the following additional activities: Occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. The following may be expected to be encountered: long periods of standing, periodic exposure to seasonal heat and cold, working with oils and greases, noise, shift work as needed - 1st and 2nd, working outside, stooping, bending, squatting, or working in a prone position.
