Job summary

General Equipment & Supplies, Inc. is seeking a yard/shipping associate to support daily operations for heavy construction equipment, aggregates, and attachments.

You will inspect equipment, document records, track inventory, operate forklifts, and assist with loading/unloading trucks in a fast-paced yard setting. The role involves moving equipment, performing safety inspections, and occasionally delivering to customer sites.

Qualifications

• Experience operating heavy equipment is preferred.
• Mechanical knowledge is preferred.
• Willingness to obtain CDL license; not required.
• Must have good oral and written communication.
• Organizational skills with ability to manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Support daily yard, shipping, and receiving operations; handle equipment safely.
• Take photos of equipment/attachments and submit to appropriate personnel.
• Verify serial numbers and document information.
• Complete damage inspections of incoming equipment.
• Operate, load, and unload heavy equipment and attachments safely.
• Move equipment within yard and organize yard space.
• Complete paperwork for jobs and submit promptly.
• Move aggregate equipment with a semi-truck as needed.
• Run forklifts (up to 30,000 lb) daily.
• Occasionally deliver items to customer sites.
• Obtain and maintain DOT health card.

Job description

This position supports daily yard, shipping, and receiving operations by safely handling heavy construction equipment, Aggregate equipment and attachments. Responsibilities include equipment inspections, documentation, inventory tracking, forklift operation, and maintaining an organized, efficient yard. The role also assists with loading/unloading trucks, moving equipment in and out of shops, snow removal, and occasional deliveries to customer job sites.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Accurate and timely completion of equipment shipping and receiving records (EMM’s).
• Take in/out pictures of equipment/attachments and submit them to appropriate
• Must verify the S/N’s of equipment and attachments and ensure information is documented
• Complete damage inspections of all equipment entering the
• Operate, load and unload heavy construction equipment and attachments in a safe
• Organize equipment for yard
• Maintain a clean and organized
• Complete all paperwork required for jobs and submit to the appropriate people in a timely
• Perform other additional duties as directed by management.
• Perform quarterly inventory reports for sales department items.
• Move aggregate equipment in and out of shops with semi-truck as needed.
• Run various size forklifts (5,000 lb to 30,000 lb) daily.
• Load and unload shuttle trucks daily.
• Occasionally deliver sales items to customer job sites.
• Obtain and maintain DOT health card (under other requirements).

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
