Our Yard Attendants enjoy working outdoors. They are detail-oriented, quick on their feet, and often have a passion for cars. While safety is always a priority, they understand the importance of efficiency in operations.

As the frontline of IAA, this role offers opportunities to learn new technologies and be at the forefront of the auction industry with our tools and resources.

A day in the life:
  • Vehicle check-in: recording and filing vehicle information
  • Detailing vehicles to improve appearance and value at auction (training provided)
  • Operating passenger vehicles safely within the facility and during auctions
  • Recovering keys, license plates, and other items from vehicles and storing them appropriately
  • Assisting visitors with guidance and directing them to the right personnel
  • Training in forklift and loader operation
Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required. Physical demands are part of this role; it is not a desk job.

Positive attitude and good customer interaction skills are essential. Knowledge of cars or mechanical skills are a plus. Teamwork is vital for success.

Preferred Skills:

Experience with automotive repair, rental, or construction industries is advantageous.

Physical Demands:
  • Use of safety procedures and PPE
  • Recognizing unsafe situations and responding appropriately
  • Lifting up to 20 lbs. constantly, up to 50 lbs. frequently, and over 100 lbs. occasionally
  • Frequent reaching, handling, standing, walking, and sitting
  • Occasional bending, kneeling, climbing, and crawling
  • Outdoor work in all weather conditions
Working Conditions:
  • Primarily outdoor work in all weather
  • Awareness of hazards related to heavy equipment and vehicles
