Job summary

Agri Supply is hiring for a full-time yard associate in Monroe, NC. You will greet customers, load and unload merchandise, and operate equipment such as forklifts to move inventory.

The role requires teamwork, reliability, and attention to safety as you inspect freight, assemble items, and maintain a tidy yard and shop. Benefits include medical, dental, and retirement plan options; training may be provided for forklift certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Previous experience or schooling in assembly or related field is strongly preferred.
• Previous forklift experience or ability to obtain your forklift Certification within 90 days of hire.
• Able to work independently and within a team.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and a focus on quality control.
• Physical stamina, strength, dexterity and hand-eye coordination, including the ability to grasp, manipulate, and assemble parts and components that are often very small.
• Possess a sense of urgency required to work in a deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide a positive customer experience by greeting and assisting customers on the yard. Respond to customer inquiries and upsell products when possible.
• Review the loading ticket and load purchased merchandise into the customers' vehicle manually or with approved machinery.
• Unload, examine, and prep all incoming yard freight. Move new inventory into designated locations on the yard; notify management of damaged/missing product.
• Follow company safety guidelines and basic safety practices at all times.
• Complete required audits and safety checks.
• Install trailer hitches and tool boxes, inflate and mount tires for pre-paid customers.
• Read and decipher blueprints and assembly instructions; use hand tools or machines to complete assembly.
• Assemble components by examining connections for correct fits and removing small quantities of metal with hand tools.
• Keep equipment operational by preventative maintenance and troubleshooting malfunctions.
• Maintain housekeeping to promote a safe and clean working environment on the yard and in the shop.
• Any other duties assigned by management.
• This is a full-time 40-hour per week position, with weather-related considerations and loading duties.

Job Duties:

• Provide a positivecustomerexperience by greeting and assisting customers on the yard. Respond to customer inquiries and upsell products when possible.
• Review the loading ticket and load purchased merchandise into the customers' vehicle manually or with approved machinery (pallet jack, forklift, etc) quickly and efficiently.
• Unload, examine, and prep all incoming yard freight. Manually or with machinery (forklift or pallet jack), move new inventory into the designated locations on the yard. Notify the lead or store management of any damaged or missing product.
• Follow company safety guidelines and basic safety practices at all times
• Complete required audits and safety checks.
• Install trailer hitches, and tool boxes, inflate and mount tires, lubricate parts, paint merchandise, etc. for pre-paid customers.
• Read and decipher blueprints and assembly instructions. Use hand tools or machines to complete assembly.
• Assemble components by examining connections for correct fits, fastening parts, and removing small quantities of metal with hand files and scrappers to produce correct fits between parts.
• Keep equipment operational by completing preventative maintenance requirements, following the manufacturer’s instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, and notifying the lead when outside repairs are needed.
• Maintain excellent housekeeping practices in order to promote a safe and clean working environment out on the yard and in the shop.
• Any and all other duties assigned by management
• This is a full time 40 hour per week position. It requires working in all weather conditions - hot, cold, raining. Job duties are loading customer purchases with either the Genie or a tractor, assemble equipment, stage equipment in the yard, keep the yard organized and clean.

Physical Expectations:

During the job, employees are regularly required tostand, sit, and/or walkfor extended periods, use their hands tohandle or control objects, andperform tasks that involve reaching, climbing, kneeling, or crouching. The role involves frequentlylifting or movingup to 25 pounds, with occasional requirements to handle more with assistance or equipment. Employees must also be able topush and pullusing various equipment. Specific vision abilities, including close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, are necessary.Verbal communicationand the ability to hear are also required for safety and coordination.
