Mohler's True Value Home Center is seeking a Yard Associate to provide exceptional service to contractors and residential customers. You will advise on lumber and building materials, assist with loading, and help stock and organize the lumber yard.
Responsibilities include unloading materials, assembling loads for delivery, occasional deliveries, and maintaining safety and cleanliness. A high school diploma and valid Ohio driver’s license are required, with forklift experience preferred.

Job Summary:
Yard associates are expected to maintain a positive representation of Mohler Lumber & Hardware by providing an outstanding customer service experience consistent with company values. The main task of a yard associate is to assist customers and maintain a clean and efficient lumberyard. They should be willing to continually learn and expand their knowledge of the lumber industry. Their job will include, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
Provide our contractors and residential customers exceptional service.
Advise walk-in customers on lumber and building materials and their uses, helping them select the best product to meet their needs.
Assist customers with loading and unloading of materials.
Unload incoming lumber and building materials deliveries, and ensure items are stocked to their proper locations.
Build and stage loads for delivery, ensuring the accuracy of each customer’s order.
Occasionally make deliveries or pick-up customer returns using company vehicles.
Keep lumber yard clean, well-organized, and safe. Follow safety rules and regulations.
Help to maintain equipment, grounds and buildings.
Qualifications
Knowledge of lumber and building products required
Experience in a lumber yard or warehouse environment preferred
High school diploma required
Ability to operate a forklift preferred
Valid OH driver’s license, and clean driving record required
Able to work outdoors in all climate conditions
Physically demanding job, requires heavy lifting (up to 80 pounds), standing, bending
Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including some weekends
Pre-employment drug test required
Goals:
Continually expand knowledge of all departments, both in the lumberyard and retail store.
Become a versatile employee, able to help in other areas as needed.
After enough experience, become a mentor to new employees and help them understand products and procedures.
