Job summary

Kirby-Smith Machinery, Inc. in Dallas, TX is hiring a Yard Associate to move equipment in and out of the yard, organize inventory, and safely load and unload heavy machinery. The role requires attention to detail, safety, and the ability to work in heat and outdoor environments.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Six months of related experience preferred.
• Ability to speak, read, and write in English.
• Valid Driver’s License required.
• Knowledge and ability to operate heavy construction equipment preferred.
• Basic mechanical knowledge related to heavy industrial equipment.

Responsibilities

• Moves equipment in and out of the yard safely.
• Prepares shipping documents promptly and accurately.
• Organizes and maintains machine keys.
• Maintains yard equipment status and orderly layout.
• Washes, cleans, and details equipment using wash bay.
• Ensures consistent on-site attendance and safety protocols.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Yard Associate Position Purpose

Responsible for moving the equipment in and out of the yard, the orderly placement of the equipment, and the safe loading and unloading of equipment, and for washing and detailing the equipment using power wash bay equipment.

• Prepares shipping documents promptly and accurately
• Organizes and maintains machine keys
• Maintains the status of equipment in the yard
• Maintains an orderly organization of equipment and attachments
• Washes, cleans, and makes equipment ready by using the wash bay
• Ensures consistent and reliable on-site attendance
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Yard Associate Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Six (6) months of experience in a related position
• Ability to speak, read, and write in English
• Valid Driver’s License
• Knowledge and ability to operate heavy construction equipment, experience preferred
• Basic mechanical knowledge related to heavy industrial construction equipment

Yard Associate Physical Requirements

• Pushing/Pulling/Lifting/Carrying up to 50pounds without assistance
• Physical ability to squat, twist, turn, bend, stoop, climb, and reach overhead
• Must be able to work in extreme heat, cold, wet, damp, dusty, or windy conditions and tolerate exposure to typical noises, hazardous materials, and fumes/odors
• Physical ability to climb on and climb off heavy equipment
• Adheres to personal protective equipment (PPE) policy and maintains individual PPE to ensure functionality
