McGrath in South Plainfield, NJ is seeking an Asset Maintenance & Inventory Technician to join our operations team. This full-time role focuses on yard inventory, container repair, forklift logistics, and on-site field service support.

You will organize the yard, perform light welding and painting, manage stock levels, and ensure each asset leaving the yard is quality checked. The job requires independence, physical stamina, and adherence to safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years in a construction yard or similar environment.
• Forklift operation experience required.
• Basic computer skills for inventory and paperwork.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with metal containers, trailers and bins.

Responsibilities

• Organize yard containers by size and repair state using forklift.
• Clean, paint and perform basic upkeep of yard containers.
• Support customers with on-site field service calls.
• Perform light welding, electrical work, carpentry, painting and rust remediation.
• Manage inventory readiness and availability of all container types.
• Inspect and maintain quantities of container types and assist with asset intake.
• Operate forklift and maintain in/out logs and inventory reports and move inventory.
