Big C Lumber in Three Oaks, MI is seeking a Yard and Warehouse person. This is a full time, day shift position with benefits. This person will provide assistance to customers and drivers, and receive and prepare material for shipment.

Qualifications

• Basic math skills are required.
• Ability to become forklift certified.
• Ability to lift 80 lb to specified areas, in rough terrain, up/down steps.
• Ability to withstand exposure to harsh weather conditions.
• Ability to coordinate and work well in a team.
• Ability to adapt to in-house software.

Responsibilities

• Ensure customer satisfaction while maintaining safety as the top priority.
• Keep the yard clean and organized at all times.
• Unload vehicles and verify material accuracy.
• Use required safety equipment during all tasks.
• Assist other employees as needed and support daily operations.
• Return items to proper storage and manage returns.
• Perform daily forklift inspections and report issues.
• Arrange materials on trucks for efficient loading.
• Store inventory properly and securely.
• Communicate clearly with customers, employees, and suppliers.

• #1 priority is to ensure customer satisfaction while never compromising safety
• Assist with ensuring yard is kept clean always
• Unload vehicles and check for material accuracy
• Use all required safety equipment
• Assist other employees as needed
• Put returns away
• Check vehicles for any problems; including daily forklift inspections
• Proper arrangement of material on trucks
• Proper storage of inventory
• Communicate clearly, accurately, and effectively with employees, management, customers, and suppliers
• Perform any special assignment/projects as required by the Operations Manager
• Asset preservation
• Adherence to all safety and fire regulations and anti-theft procedures
• Promote a positive image of BIG C

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Basic math skills
• Ability to become Forklift Certified
• Ability to lift, carry, and move 80# to specified areas, in rough terrain, up/down steps
• Ability to withstand exposure to harsh weather conditions
• Ability to coordinate as well as work in a team
