MarineMax Services Inc. seeks a Yacht Rigging Technician to service and rig yachts, ensuring safety and operability for both new and used inventory. The role involves installing equipment, diagnosing issues, and coordinating with service advisors to complete tasks on time.

The technician will perform maintenance and light repairs, document work performed, and participate in off-site events to showcase yachts. A strong mechanical mindset and clear communication are essential.

Responsibilities

• Prepare yachts for presentation and delivery to customer.
• Attach components and perform repairs not assembled by the manufacturer.
• Troubleshoot and verify electronics, systems, and engines are functioning correctly.
• Complete warranty work in accordance with guidelines.
• Provide documentation such as labor tickets and work orders.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and professional showroom.

Job description

OVERVIEW

The Yacht Rigging Technician is responsible for the repairs and rigging of yachts. The Technician provides service and maintenance as needed to the new and used yacht inventory.

KEY TASKS

• Prepare yachts for presentation and delivery to customer.
• Properly attach any components to yacht that the manufacturer did not assemble.
• Examine yacht and discuss nature and extent of repair or malfunction with the service advisor or customer.
• Assure that the yachts are in safe and working order.
• Install optional equipment and electronics.
• Troubleshoot and verify working order of electronics, system, and engines.
• Perform light duty tasks such as changing oil filters, general service and warranty repairs.
• Ensure all warranty work is completed according to manufacturer’s and MarineMax guidelines.
• Provide proper documentation, such as labor tickets, work order updates including a description of the work performed
• Complete repair work utilizing service scheduler and SSO’s within the established timeframe.
• Communicate with the service advisors and/or parts department to obtain necessary parts and supplies timely.
• Conduct the necessary maintenance checks and repairs as described in the maintenance program in a timely and professional manner
• Set up and participate in boat shows and other off-site promotional events.
• Perform all work in a safe and clean manner leaving boat in top condition.
• Maintain a professional and clean facility and showroom conducive to selling.
• Maintain MarineMax tools and equipment in good condition according to established guidelines
• Available to work additional hours when necessary
• Travel to additional locations when necessary to maintain inventory
• Project a knowledgeable and professional image at all times
• Other duties as assigned.
