Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in a marine service yard emphasizing safety and detail.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
• Must be able to climb ladders and scaffolding when necessary.
• Must be able to maneuver about vessels, on and off the water.
• Must be able to wear respirator and PPE as required.
• Environments may include VOC chemicals such as epoxy or urethane.

Responsibilities

• Mask, tape, and sand vessels to prepare for varnish coating.
• Assist the varnish team with maintenance and repairs.
• Prepare boats for paint, including washing, sanding, taping, and masking.
• Use correct products for compounding, polishing, and waxing yachts.
• Inspect boat surfaces for scratches or damage and report findings.
• Comply with laws and regulations related to paint, thinners, and hazardous materials.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and dispose of hazardous waste properly.
• Attend production meetings and collaborate with the maintenance team to meet deadlines.
• Maintain good relationships with Captains and support staff.
• Undertake additional duties as assigned by the reporting manager.
