Job summary

Crewseekers Ltd is looking for an experienced captain or boat manager to oversee the sailing yacht Able Apogee, based at Safe Harbor Jamestown Boatyard in Rhode Island, through the summer of 2026 and the 2026–27 winter season. This role focuses on stewardship and technical readiness, without the need for sailing assistance.

The responsibilities include periodic assessment of boat systems, rigging oversight, and ensuring readiness for passages along the U.S. East Coast and to the Caribbean.

Qualifications

• Experience managing a comparable cruising sailboat.
• Strong knowledge of rig, electrical, and electronics systems.
• Comfortable acting as the single point of contact for owners and contractors.

Responsibilities

• Perform periodic assessments of boat systems and report back to owners.
• Oversee and maintain the boat's rigging.
• Maintain and troubleshoot electrical and electronic systems.
• Coordinate with the yard and outside contractors.
• Ensure the boat is fully prepared for medium- and long-range passages.
