Responsibilities
- Ensure a safe operation of USCG Inspected Vessel – Powerboats and sailboats
- Responsible for all crew and passengers’ safety while under way and on the dock
- Delegate and accounts for all pre-trip provisioning, preparation and vessel inspection, post trip cleaning and resupply
- Ensure crew delivers an enjoyable, guest‑centric and luxury experience throughout the excursions (includes food and beverage)
- Account for and report routine maintenance and critical maintenance needs
- Manage assigned crew member(s)
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Current USCG credential – Captains
- Master 50 Ton near coastal
- Sail endorsement required for Sail catamarans
- TWIC Card
- STCW Basic Training
- II/3 STCW Endorsement is a plus for BVI Operations
- Current First Aid/CPR
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Must be able to walk on various types of surfaces including rough terrain, sitting, standing, maintaining balance, on the beach, and in the water, and working alone
- Must be able to work various work settings such as exposure to sunlight and outside temperature
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all persons contacted during the work
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply regulations and safe practices
- Ability to operate assigned equipment, read and interpret documents
- Ability to multi‑task
- Ability to speak and write clearly and concisely
- Must be able to operate with little or no supervision
- Must be willing to work holidays, nights, and weekends
- Must have strong interpersonal skills and positive attitude
- Team player, positive and enthusiastic attitude
- Previous day charter experience is a plus
- Knowledge of local destinations
- Basic knowledge of maintenance of vessels a plus
