The YMCA is currently seeking enthusiastic, energetic and dedicated candidates for the following position: Kid’s Gym Attendant

HOURS:This is a part-time position. We are currently looking for staff with weekday availability between 7:45am - 12:00pm, or 3:45pm - 8:00pm.

GENERAL FUNCTION: Under the direction of the Membership and/or Youth & Family Director the position supervises groups of children and implements YMCA activities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Leads and participates in group activities and performs related skills with children ages 3 months to 7 years old. (i.e., painting, coloring, reading, and motor skills activities).
  2. Follows specific YMCA Camp Standard Operating Procedures. (i.e., check-in/out of participants, parent greeting, cleaning and straightening of supplies).
  3. Implements program activities and special events.
  4. Promotes and embraces Character Development in curriculum.
  5. Serves as a positive role model for program participants.
  6. Builds and maintains a high standard of member service for all program participants.
  7. Promotes safety as an overriding objective in all programming efforts.
  8. Builds and maintains a high standard of member service with all members.
  9. Performs other duties as assigned.

ABUSE RISK MANAGEMENT FUNCTIONS:

1.Adhere to policies related to boundaries with children.

2.Attend required abuse risk management training.

3.Report suspicious or inappropriate behaviors and policy violations.

4.Follow mandated abuse reporting requirements.

5.Adhere to job specific abuse risk management responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or general education (GED); or one to three months’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • Current CPR, AED, First Aid, Emergency Oxygen Certifications (required)
