Job summary

Gateway Region YMCA in Saint Peters, Missouri is seeking a part‑time program support role. The position involves coordinating activities, meeting the diverse needs of participants, and upholding YMCA policies to ensure safety and quality programming.

Ideal candidates will be at least 18 with a high school diploma and 1–2 years of related experience. Completion of YMCA certifications is preferred. This role offers a supportive environment with opportunities to help families and children thrive.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Support planning and coordination of the program and its activities
• Ensure individual needs of participants are met within program guidelines
• Utilize sound judgment and discretionary skills per Gateway Region YMCA policies
• Maintain positive relationships with staff, parents, volunteers and site administration
• Ensure YMCA policies and procedures are followed at all times
• Maintain an environment that ensures participant safety and well-being
• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities
• Work with director to determine current needs for the program
• Ensure implementation of policies and procedures
• Maintain budget and track expenditures/transactions
• Schedule and organize meetings/events and maintain agenda
• Ensure ADA compliance with federal, state, local and YMCA regulations
• Ensure individual needs of youth needing support are met and supported within approved parameters
• Implement reasonable accommodations to programs and activities as needed
• Review and implement Association IEP Summary Support paperwork
• Develop and implement adaptive childcare curriculum
• Provide opportunities to build self-help and independent skills
• Maintain confidentiality and prepare proper records and files
• Communicate professionally with YMCA staff, participants and families
• Ensure youth receiving support are fully included in site activities
• Maintain approved staff/youth ratios (1:1; 1:2; or 1:3)
• Perform all other duties as assigned

Requirements
