Job summary

The BatMAX PostDoc position at Lund University (MAX IV) focuses on developing XRD-CT techniques at the DanMAX beamline and applying them to battery research. You will work across the BatMAX hub and the Battery Matrix, coordinating across beamlines and collaborating with LU, Chalmers, Uppsala, and Aarhus partners.

You will lead hardware development, scanning algorithms and reconstruction software, support beamline operations for user projects, and contribute to high-impact scientific publications.

Qualifications

  • PhD in chemistry, physics, engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Proven experience with X-ray imaging/diffraction techniques (XRD-CT, 3D-XRD, µ/nanoCT, STXM) or similar.
  • Experience in Python for data analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Excellent command of English and good communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development of XRD-CT at the DanMAX beamline, including hardware, scanning algorithms and reconstruction software.
  • Participate in beamline operations, user support, and hardware/software maintenance with a battery-research focus.
  • Develop experimental research exploiting XRD-CT for battery studies.
  • Engage in the BatMAX consortium, plan beam times, conduct experiments, analyze results and write scientific articles.
