POSITION SUMMARY

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Anesthesia Tech I - temporary. In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for stocking all anesthetic supplies for ORs, maintaining all anesthetic equipment, and ensuring anesthetic equipment is available.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Calibrates and runs Quality Control and Quality Assurance analysis on equipment.
  2. Calibrates and trouble-shoots anesthesia machines.
  3. Sets up Level I RIS, syringe pumps, capnographs, TEG, and TEEs.
  4. Sets up intravenous, central venous, arterial, pulmonary artery catheters using sterile techniques, percutaneous introducer kits, double lumen kits, triple lumen kits, long arm CVP kits, chest tubes, ARNDT blockers, univent tubes, trans-tracheal intubations, fiberoptic scopes, LMAs, tube changers, jet ventilation, and resuscitation bags.
  5. Clears debris and equipment from the surface and drawers of used anesthesia machines.
  6. Insures the sterility and cleanliness of all machines.
  7. Performs all standard procedural checks on equipment.
  8. Assists with troubleshooting technical problems.
  9. Makes minor repairs and adjustments to equipment.
  10. Informs Engineering and supervisor of needed repairs.
  11. Performs other duties as needed.
  12. Ensures medical pipeline gases (N2O, O2, Medical Air) are operational, checks cylinder banks, and replaces empty cylinders.
  13. Checks machine drawers to ensure they are well-stocked with supplies like Lactated Ringers, Plasma Lite, Normal Saline, Hespan, Flextend, FFP, Whole Blood, and Albumin.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High School Education required. One year of work experience in a perioperative area or related field, or familiarity with OR drug and equipment terminology. Ability to read, write, follow instructions, lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs. Basic computer skills. Qualified candidates must communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
