Job summary

Envision Imaging is seeking a PRN X-Ray Technologist to perform diagnostic X-Ray procedures and adjust equipment settings while ensuring patient safety and comfort. The role requires coordinating with radiologists, preparing patients, and maintaining high-quality imaging for interpretation.

The position offers as-needed hours with Saturday availability in Texas, and requires ARRT (R) certification, state license if applicable, CPR, and strong communication in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Responsibilities

• Interfaces with patient to ascertain medical history and provide procedure instructions.
• Reviews charts for missed information and consent; screens for implants or allergies.
• Obtains prior films and performs high-quality scans for radiologist interpretation.
• Performs exams with patient care throughout the process and notifies if condition changes.
• Transfers images to other locations as needed and coordinates scan protocols with radiologist.
• Maintains and inspects equipment; reports quality concerns or deficiencies.
• Interfaces with Lead Technologist and Center/Area Manager on departmental concerns.

Job description

Envision Imaging is looking to add a PRN X-Ray Technologist to our team!
PRN (as-needed) + Saturday Availability | Position Pay Range $27.29 - $35.18

Summary/Objective:

Performs various types of diagnostic X-Ray procedures, adjusts X-Ray equipment settings, determines proper voltage and exposure and positions patient. Performs specific procedures utilizing ionizing radiation. Assists physicians in assigned examination utilizing contrast media and/or specific tomographic examinations.

Essential Functions

1. Interfaces with patient to ascertain medical history and provides instructions and explanation of the procedure and/or exam to obtain the best possible image.
2. Reviews patient charts for missed clinical information and/or consent. Screens patients for surgical and other implants, contrast allergies, etc.
3. Obtains prior films/exams as needed and performs high quality scans to submit to the Radiologist for interpretation.
4. Performs exams while attending to patient’s care before, during and following exam and notifies the appropriate party if patient’s condition changes at any time.
5. Transfers images to other locations as needed.
6. Coordinates scan protocols with Radiologist.
7. Maintains and regularly inspects equipment and immediately reports any quality concerns as well as equipment failures or deficiencies.
8. Interfaces with Lead Technologist & Center/Area Manager regarding any and all departmental concerns.
9. Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervision responsibilities.

Work Environment

This job operates in an environmentally controlled outpatient clinical environment. Potential exposure to radiation, which is minimized by the use of Personal Protective Equipment. Possible exposure to bodily fluids, communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation and other conditions common to a medical office environment. Often requires work in cool, dimly lighted rooms.

Job Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications/Experience:

Education/Certifications:

• Graduate of an accredited Registered Technologist program
• Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification
• Registry in Radiography (R)
• Current license from state medical board (if applicable)
• Current CPR certification
