Job summary

Envision Radiology is seeking a PRN X-Ray Technologist to perform diagnostic X-ray procedures and position patients for optimal imaging in our outpatient clinic. You will adjust exposure settings, assist physicians, and ensure high-quality scans are submitted to Radiologists for interpretation.

The role requires ARRT certification, Radiography registry, CPR, and state licensure where applicable, with strong communication and multi-tasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Two plus years’ X-ray experience preferred.
• Ability to educate patients on procedures being performed.
• Detail oriented, self-motivated, a problem solver and a team player.
• Ability to navigate multiple computer screens and browsers quickly and accurately.
• Ability to excel in a very fast-pace team environment.
• Strong communication skills & professional demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostic X-ray procedures, adjusts equipment settings and positions patient.
• Assists physicians with examinations using contrast media and/or tomo examinations.
• Obtains prior films/exams and submits high quality scans to Radiologist.
• Coordinates scan protocols with Radiologist and transfers images as needed.
• Maintains and inspects equipment; reports quality concerns or deficiencies.
• Adheres to compliance and safety policies within an outpatient setting.

Job description

Envision Imaging is looking to add a PRN X-Ray Technologist to our team! PRN (as-needed) | Position Pay Range $27.29 - $35.18

Summary/Objective:

Performs various types of diagnostic X-Ray procedures, adjusts X-Ray equipment settings, determines proper voltage and exposure and positions patient. Performs specific procedures utilizing ionizing radiation. Assists physicians in assigned examination utilizing contrast media and/or specific tomographic examinations.

Essential Functions

1. Interfaces with patient to ascertain medical history and provides instructions and explanation of the procedure and/or exam to obtain the best possible image.
2. Reviews patient charts for missed clinical information and/or consent. Screens patients for surgical and other implants, contrast allergies, etc.
3. Obtains prior films/exams as needed and performs high quality scans to submit to the Radiologist for interpretation.
4. Performs exams while attending to patient’s care before, during and following exam and notifies the appropriate party if patient’s condition changes at any time.
5. Transfers images to other locations as needed.
6. Coordinates scan protocols with Radiologist.
7. Maintains and regularly inspects equipment and immediately reports any quality concerns as well as equipment failures or deficiencies.
8. Interfaces with Lead Technologist & Center/Area Manager regarding any and all departmental concerns.
9. Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervision responsibilities.

Work Environment

This job operates in an environmentally controlled outpatient clinical environment. Potential exposure to radiation, which is minimized by the use of Personal Protective Equipment. Possible exposure to bodily fluids, communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation and other conditions common to a medical office environment. Often requires work in cool, dimly lighted rooms.

Education/Certifications:

• Graduate of an accredited Registered Technologist program
• Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification
• Registry in Radiography (R)
• Current license from state medical board (if applicable)
• Current CPR certification
