Job summary

Spire Orthopedic Partners seeks a qualified X-ray technician to join our Connecticut team. Responsibilities include greeting patients, transporting them to imaging rooms, performing diagnostic X-rays, and handling PACS data with physicians and staff oversight.

Applicants must graduate from an approved radiology program, hold a Connecticut X-ray license and ARRT registration. Two years of experience preferred; orthopedic exposure is a plus. Generous PTO and comprehensive benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Graduate of approved radiology school (two-year program).
• Connecticut X-ray technician license valid. ARRT registered.
• Minimum two years of X-ray technician experience preferred.
• Orthopedic radiology experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and escort to X-ray rooms.
• Enter data for each X-ray in PACS promptly.
• Perform diagnostic X-rays as requested.
• Communicate with physicians, patients and colleagues.
• Maintain and order X-ray supplies and index films.
• Create CDs of digital X-rays and retrieve patient files.
• Follow HIPAA rules and maintain privacy.
• Handle cassettes for imaging and purge as needed.

The Spire network spans the Northeast with more than 165 physicians, 1,800 employees, 285 other clinical providers and 40 locations in New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island and Massachusetts.What you’ll do:Greeting patients in a prompt and pleasant manner.Promptly escorts patients to X-ray rooms and/or exam rooms.Enter data as required for each X-ray in PACS system in a timely manner.Performs diagnostic X-rays as requested.Interacts/communicates appropriately with physicians, patients and colleagues.Maintains and orders X-ray supplies.Files and retrieves X-rays including OR list.Generates copies of films and creates CDs of digital X-rays.Uses Medic and PACS systems to locate patient files.Erases cassettes for imaging weekly.Follows all HIPAA rules.Performs other duties/projects as assigned.Who you are:Graduate of approved school of radiology required (two-year course).Valid Connecticut X-ray technician license.
