Job summary

3M HEALTHCARE in Tampa, FL is seeking a Radiology Technologist to produce high-quality diagnostic digital X-ray images while adhering to radiation safety regulations and proper documentation.

You will communicate effectively with patients and radiologists, assist in training new staff, and troubleshoot the X-ray unit and related equipment. A valid state license, ARRT certification, CPR, and a high standard of patient care are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
• ARRT (R) certification and state license if applicable.
• CPR certification required.
• Valid state driver’s license where applicable.
• Experience in fixed or mobile settings preferred.
• Vaccination may be a condition of employment.

The Radiology Technologist is responsible for producing high‑quality diagnostic digital X‑ray images, with special attention to radiation safety regulations, proper documentation, and appropriate techniques. The role includes effective communication with patients and radiologists, and the potential to assist in training new technologists and/or patient coordinators.

Responsibilities

• Produce high‑quality diagnostic X‑ray images.
• Ensure radiation safety and compliance with regulations, including accurate documentation and correct technique when working with patients and radioactive materials.
• Maintain patient safety, including pre‑screening for contraindications and aseptic injection technique.
• Communicate effectively with patients and radiologists.
• Provide training for new Radiologic Technologists and/or Patient Coordinators.
• Troubleshoot the X‑ray unit and all peripheral equipment (computers, PACS, etc.).

Position Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent experience required; Associate's Degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• ARRT (R) certification and state license, if applicable, required.
• CPR certification required.
• Valid state driver’s license where applicable.
• Team Members working in a fixed setting: successful completion of a Radiology School and ability to work at several locations.
• Strong customer service skills, organizational and multi‑tasking skills.
• Basic knowledge of computer applications and programs.
• Team Members working in a mobile setting: a minimum of one year radiography or digital X‑ray experience required (preferred); local travel may be required.
• COVID‑19 vaccination is or may be a condition of employment.

Physical Requirements

More than 50% of the time: sit, stand, walk; repetitive movement of hands, arms and legs; see, speak and hear to communicate with patients.

Less than 50% of the time: stoop, kneel or crawl; climb and balance; carry and lift (ability to move non‑ambulatory patients from a sitting or lying position for transfer or to exam).
