Job summary

Akumin is hiring a PRN X-Ray Technologist at the Royal Palm facility in Florida. The radiology technologist will produce high-quality diagnostic x-ray images with strict adherence to radiation safety and proper documentation.

You will communicate with radiologists and patients, and may assist in training new staff. Required are ARRT (R) and state license, CPR certification, and high school diploma; an associate degree or equivalent experience is preferred.

• Strong customer service and communication skills are essential.
• Ability to organize and multitask in a fast-paced radiology setting.
• Proficiency with computer systems and basic software applications.

Responsibilities

• Produce high-quality diagnostic x-ray images with attention to radiation safety.
• Ensure patient safety and pre-screen for contraindications.
• Communicate effectively with patients, radiologists, and staff.
• Possibility to train new Radiologic Technologists or Patient Coordinators.
• Troubleshoot x-ray units and peripheral equipment (PACS, computers).

We are currently hiring for an X-Ray Technologist at our Royal Palm facility. This will be a PRN position.

The Radiology Technologist is responsible high quality diagnostic digital x-ray images with special attention to radiation/safety regulations, including proper documentation and techniques. Responsible for ensuring effective communication with customers, including radiologists as necessary. As applicable may assist in training new technologists and/or Patient Coordinators.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

• Produces high quality diagnostic x-ray images. Special attention to radiation safety/regulations, including proper documentation and technique when working with patients and radioactive materials.


• Responsible for patient safety, including pre-screening for contra-indications, aseptic injection technique etc.


• Effectively communicates with customers and radiologists.


• May train new Radiologic Technologists and/or PC’s.


• Trouble-shoots the X-ray unit and all peripheral equipment (including: computers, PACS, etc.).

Position Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent experience required; Associate's Degree or equivalent experience preferred.


• ARRT (R) and state license, if applicable required.


• CPR certification required.


• As applicable, valid state driver’s licence.
