Job summary

Radiology Associates in Ocala, FL is seeking an X-Ray Technologist to join our diagnostic imaging team. You will capture high-quality radiographs and contribute to patient care and safety. The role requires completion of an accredited radiologic technology program and ARRT certification.

You will work with DR and PACS technologies to produce accurate images for physicians. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, compassionate, and able to communicate clearly with patients and staff in a fast-paced

Qualifications

  • Completes an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
  • Current ARRT certification required.
  • Experience with radiography procedures.

Job Duties and Responsibilities


  • Performs diagnostic X-ray imaging procedures with accuracy and efficiency, capturing clear and detailed images.

  • Ensures strict adherence to Radiation Safety protocols, protecting both patients and staff from unnecessary exposure.

  • Positions patients correctly and comfortably for various X-ray Imaging procedures, optimizing image quality and patient experience.

  • Acquires and processes Digital Radiography (DR) images, utilizing advanced technology to produce high-resolution diagnostic studies.

  • Manages and archives images within the PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System), ensuring data integrity and accessibility.

  • Provides exceptional Patient Care, explaining procedures clearly, addressing concerns, and maintaining a supportive environment.

  • Applies comprehensive knowledge of Anatomy and Physiology to accurately target imaging areas and interpret technical requirements.

  • Utilizes Medical Terminology effectively for documentation and communication with healthcare professionals.

  • Maintains and troubleshoots imaging equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety.

  • Collaborates with physicians and other healthcare team members to facilitate timely and accurate diagnoses.


Required Qualifications

Education


  • Completes an accredited program in Radiologic Technology.

  • Holds current certification as a Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT).


Experience


  • Demonstrates proficiency in performing a wide range of Radiography procedures.

  • Possesses practical experience in Image Acquisition and processing.


Knowledge/Skills


  • Possesses strong knowledge of X-ray Imaging principles and techniques.

  • Applies comprehensive understanding of Radiation Safety regulations and best practices.

  • Excels in Patient Positioning for various anatomical studies.

  • Proficiently operates and navigates PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System).

  • Skilled in utilizing Digital Radiography (DR) equipment and software.

  • Delivers outstanding Patient Care with empathy and professionalism.

  • Understands and applies Medical Terminology accurately.

  • Possesses in-depth knowledge of human Anatomy and Physiology.

  • Exhibits excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Demonstrates meticulous attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.


Preferred Qualifications


  • Possesses one or more years of experience in an acute care hospital setting.

  • Holds additional certifications in related imaging modalities.


Physical Requirements/Work Conditions


  • Stands and walks for extended periods during shifts.

  • Lifts, pushes, and assists patients with mobility as needed.

  • Works in an environment that includes exposure to radiation, requiring strict adherence to safety protocols.

  • Operates and maneuvers heavy equipment.
