Responsibilities
- Performs diagnostic medical x-rays and reports final radiology results, including positive and critical findings.
- Performs laboratory-testing procedures in Chemistry, Hematology, Urinalysis, Serology, Microbiology, and Spirometry.
- Reports laboratory results to healthcare clinicians, alerts for critical or out-of-range values, and documents critical reports.
- Performs phlebotomy including venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks for patients from newborn to 20 years old.
- Prepares specimens for reference lab send-outs, including labeling, resulting, and billing information.
- Performs and documents quality control and instrument maintenance regularly.
- Maintains inventory of lab supplies, reorders, and stocks supplies.
Qualifications
- Minimum Associate degree required; graduation from a Radiology program (RT or BMO) required.
- At least 1 year of healthcare x-ray experience required; laboratory procedures and phlebotomy preferred.
- Licensure/Certification: CPR, Florida Department of Health License (RT or BMO), Certified Radiologic Technologist License, or Basic Machine Operators License for X-Ray. Phlebotomy certification required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of diagnostic medical x-ray processing and laboratory quality control.
- Understanding of universal precautions and medical safety practices.
- Skilled in phlebotomy and effective communication with patients and staff.
- Ability to assess emergency situations and organize tasks efficiently.
- Basic medical terminology knowledge.
Working Conditions

- Operating computer and exposure to hazards.
- Physical activities include reaching, manual dexterity, lifting, sitting, walking, and bending.
Physical and Performance Requirements
- Vision, hearing, smell, touch, PPE usage.
- Follow proper x-ray techniques and report results accurately and timely.
- Adhere to organizational security policies and protect sensitive information.
