Mayo Clinic College of Medicine & Science is seeking a designer to create immersive XR learning experiences in a hybrid role based in Rochester, MN. You will blend UI/UX craft with accessibility-first design and partner with developers and content contributors.

The role requires a Bachelor's in UI/UX or related field, 5+ years of design experience, expert UI methods, and familiarity with XR/AR/VR, AI interactions, and WCAG standards. Strong collaboration and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in UI/UX design or related field.
• At least 5 years of UI design experience with demonstrated impact.
• Expert UI design methods: prototyping, flow diagrams, wireframes, specs.
• Experience or willingness to learn XR/AR/VR, 360 video and 3D tools.
• Experience designing AI interactions is preferred.
• WCAG accessibility standards knowledge is required.
• Strong communication and presentation skills; portfolio showing deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Contribute across design process: wireframes, mockups, scalable patterns.
• Represent learners in interface design across devices with accessibility in mind.
• Participate in UX research to align with user goals.
• Translate findings into reusable design patterns to improve usability.
• Collaborate to improve navigation, interaction patterns, and storytelling.
• Develop familiarity with LMS and partner with content contributors.
• Create design specs for developers considering feasibility.
• Apply XR interaction concepts with accessibility considerations.
• Ensure Mayo Clinic visual identity across environments.
• Work with HTML/CSS and CMS to support brand identity.
• Deliver visual designs and specs for UI engineering teams.
• Mentor content publishing team and stay current with UX standards.
