Job summary

The New School is seeking a part-time Course Assistant to support xFab course activities on campus. You’ll work with instructors to organize supplies, prep spaces, and manage materials for hands-on electronics and fabrication projects.

You will gain practical experience in a dynamic design and technology environment, ensuring materials are labeled, stored properly, and readily available for class sessions throughout the 15-week term.

• Current student in the MFA Design & Technology program.
• Strong academic standing.
• Familiarity with the materials and equipment used in xFab.

Responsibilities

• Work with xFab instructors in a non-instructional support capacity.

• Assist with equipment and materials pickup on campus.

The Course Assistant will work with xFab instructors to accomplish this task. In addition, the Course Assistant will support teaching and learning outcomes through non-instructional duties such as: attending class when needed, demonstrating the use of equipment, assisting with classroom setup, organization and maintenance of instructional materials, maintenance of spaces designated for instructional activity, and assisting with equipment and materials pickup on campus.
