Job summary

Tahoe Donner Association invites energetic, safety-conscious instructors to teach cross-country skiing to children in a dynamic, family-friendly resort setting. The role emphasizes safe, enjoyable lessons and outstanding guest service.

Ideal candidates are 18+ with teaching aspirations, able to work midweek afternoons and weekends, and possess or be willing to pursue PSIA/AASI and CPR/First Aid certifications. Part-time seasonal positions with benefits and discounts are available.

Qualifications

• PSIA/AASI certification and/or children’s accreditation is preferred.

Tahoe Donner Association is looking for fun and high-energy Cross-Country Children’s Ski Instructors to join our cross-country operations! The Children’s Ski Instructors are responsible for teaching children of various ages and levels in ski programs and classes and other ski area activities as needed. This position promotes the sport of skiing with exceptional guest service by providing safe, enjoyable and effective group ski and individual ski lessons for kids. Come Share the Stoke!We are looking for applicants who exhibit the following qualities:Consistency and ReliabilityCheerful and Positive AttitudeEnergetic and outgoing personalityValues TeamworkLoves Serving and Helping Others.We are looking for the following qualifications:Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.Passion to teach cross country skiing to children, and willingness to learn new skills.Minimum intermediate xc skiing skills or above.Ability to assess and teach to a level appropriate to an assigned student or group’s abilities, fitness and needs.Current Professional Ski Instructors of America (PSIA) membership recommended.Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid certifications recommended.Ability to work midweek afternoons and weekends, holidays is preferred.Effective communication skills, oral and written.Strong sense of customer service and safety awarenessThese skills and abilities are typically acquired through PSIA or AASI Certification and/or Children’s Accreditation, teaching experience in a sports setting with children, recreation, education or child development experience and customer service experience in a resort setting plus trainings offered by The Professional Ski Instructors; or an equivalent combination of formal training, education and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform all of the duties of the position.
