Perform a wide variety of diagnostic procedures requiring independent judgment and ingenuity. Apply appropriate skills to facilitate diagnosis, with responsibilities assigned by Lead Technologist, Administrative Director, or Operations Manager. Ensure proper patient care following departmental and hospital policies. May oversee areas or supervise department personnel as directed. Practice infection control in compliance with policies and standards. Maintain patient confidentiality. Operate and troubleshoot PACS, HIS, RIS systems, and mammography equipment. Complete annual mandatory education including infection control and HIPAA, and maintain department competencies.
Experience: 2 years as a diagnostic technologist preferred; 1 year as a mammography technologist preferred (training available)
Education and Training: Completion of formal ACR-approved Radiologic Technology program preferred unless training is provided
License, Certification & Registration: ARRT(RTR) - Registered Technologist Radiography; ARRT(M) – Mammography (training and certification in progress acceptable); CPR required; MALIC(R)(M) - Mass License in Radiography and Mammography (or working towards Mammography certification)
Other Requirements: Excellent patient care skills; current continuing education credits in radiology and mammography as appropriate
