Job summary

NextCare Urgent Care is seeking a Radiology Technician (RT) or Practical Technologist in Radiology (PTR) / Medical Assistant for a fast-paced, team-oriented urgent care setting. The candidate must hold RT or PTR certification and CPR, with an approved Medical Assistant training background.

The role emphasizes patient care, accurate radiology procedures, medication administration, and proficiency with EMR/EHR systems.

Qualifications

  • Must hold Certified Radiology Technician (RT) or Practical Technologist in Radiology (PTR).
  • Current CPR certification from a recognized body.
  • Completion of an approved Medical Assistant training program or equivalent with a national certification (CMA/CCMA/RMA) depending on program.

Responsibilities

  • Performs radiology duties within the scope of practice and state regulations.
  • Assists providers with exams, patient vitals, and procedures under supervision.
  • Administers medications per policy and safety guidelines.
  • May collect urine samples for testing, including drug screens.
  • May perform splinting and casting.
  • Conducts physicals such as sports physicals.
  • Performs wound care and oxygen administration as needed.
  • Notifies provider on duty of unusual patient events and safety concerns.
  • Follows laboratory and clinical accreditation policies.

NextCare Urgent Care is looking for an energetic and enthusiastic Radiology Technician (RT) or Practical Technologist in Radiology (PTR) / Medical Assistant that likes the challenge of a fast pace setting and working in a team environment. Responsibilities
  • Performs radiology duties within the scope of practice as stated in NextCare Policies and Procedures, as well as the state appropriate Radiation Rules and Regulations.
  • Assists provider with exams (including patient vitals), procedures and other processes related to direct patient care under direct supervision of the Provider and within the scope of practice of a Medical Assistant.
  • Administers all forms of medications per policy and under Provider direction and adheres to all safety protocols and procedures for medication administration.
  • May be responsible for urine collection for various testing to include employer drug screens
  • May perform splinting and casting
  • Conduct various type physicals such as sports physicals
  • Performs other related duties specific to urgent care such as wound care and oxygen administration.
  • Notifies the provider on duty promptly of all unusual patient occurrences including medication events on an incident report.
  • Promptly notifies the Clinic Manager of patient or employee safety concerns.
  • Follows guidelines and requirements of laboratory and clinical accreditation policies.
  • Must be proficient in EMR/EHR
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or described by Company policy.

The Radiology Technician (RT) or Practical Technologist in Radiology (PTR) / Medical Assistant supports the organization with customer service and treating all of our patients with respect and dignity. They provide patient care services in the back office urgent care setting, which will meet the specific needs of the patient.

Essential Education, Experience and Skills:
ARIZONA

Education:Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent;AND diploma or certificatefrom an accredited radiology school AND

OR
  • Completed anAPPROVED (accredited)Medical Assistant training program.
  • Completed anUNAPPROVED(non-accredited)Medical Assistant training programANDa National Certification through one of the following:
  • American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) - administers the Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) exam and certification;or
  • American Medical Technologists (AMT) -- provides the Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) exam and certification to individuals who have completed the AMT criteria;or
  • National Healthcareer Association (NHA)-administers the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) exam and certification

License:Certified Radiology Technician (RT) or Practical Technologist in Radiology (PTR)

Certification:Current healthcare professional level CPR certification issued by American Heart Association, American Red Cross, American Safety Health Institute or National Safety
