Job summary

Williamson Health in Franklin, TN is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to provide high quality imaging for patients and physicians in a safe, clean environment. You will follow ALARA guidelines, assist with patient movement, and perform post‑processing for vascular studies as part of a multimodality imaging team.

The role requires ARRT certification, BLS within 90 days, and a willingness to train and collaborate with vascular surgeons to determine the correct studies.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an approved School of Radiologic Technology and ARRT certification.
  • BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
  • Preference for 1+ year hospital experience; training offered.
  • Knowledge of x‑ray equipment and computers; training provided on Williamson Medical Center processes.
  • Radiation safety and universal precautions in a multimodality imaging environment.
  • Ability to perform multitasking, assist patient movement, and lift up to 20 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Check patient identification and physician order for accuracy before studies.
  • Provide radiation safety per ALARA and Image Gently/ Image Wisely guidelines.
  • Maintain patient dignity by proper covering during exams and transport.
  • Demonstrate leadership and teamwork in difficult situations; willing to overtime as needed.
  • Ensure safety during patient movement and complete high‑quality studies.
  • Collaborate with physicians, especially vascular surgeons, for appropriate studies.
  • Perform post‑processing for vascular studies and ensure images reach PACS.
  • Understand venous/arterial vessels and operate hybrid room equipment as needed.

Job Description

To provide high quality imaging procedures to our patients and physicians in a respectful and efficient manner while providing those services in a safe and clean environment.

Position Requirements
  • Graduate of an approved School of Radiologic Technology and subsequent Accreditation through The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Must be in compliance with CE Requirements.
  • BLS is required within 90 days of hire.
  • Preference of at least one year of work experience in hospital after graduation and accreditation; however, willing to train.
  • Possesses general knowledge of many types of x‑ray equipment and computers. Will train on specific equipment and processes utilized at Williamson Medical Center. In addition, has had previous training in fluoroscopy, surgery, and routine studies and willing to perform those functions daily.
  • Radiation safety and universal precautions practiced in a multimodality imaging department.
  • Possesses the ability to perform multifunctional tasks to include: physically manipulate and operate equipment, assist in the movement of patients from wheelchairs and stretchers to table; bend, twist, stoop; lift 20 pounds; communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing; make appropriate judgement decisions in urgent or emergency situations; and demonstrate emotional stability and psychological health in day to day interaction with fellow employees, patients, their families, and physicians.

  • Checks patient identification and physician order to ensure accuracy of request before proceeding with study.
  • Provides proper radiation safety protection for all persons, to include self. Follows ALARA, IMAGE GENTLY AND IMAGE WISELY.
  • Strives to maintain the dignity of each patient by ensuring the patient is properly covered at all times; during exam and patient transport.
  • Shows leadership and teamwork in difficult situations and makes appropriate decisions.
  • Volunteers for overtime and fills in when needed to ensure hybrid room coverage is adequate for daily cases and call coverage.
  • Ensures the safety of patients by following all safety procedures while moving patients from wheelchair or stretcher to table and observing patient while on radiology table.
  • Performs high quality studies consistently.
  • Works well with fellow employees to provide the most efficient use of the equipment and ensures that all requests from physicians and patients are completed.
  • Communicates with vascular surgeon to determine the correct venous/arterial study that needs to be ordered.
  • Performs all post processing for vascular studies and ensures all images reach PACS.
  • Adequate knowledge of venous/arterial vessels.
  • Performs daily checks on hybrid room equipment and has working knowledge of all aspects of the equipment to perform cases and can place a service call for steris or philips.
