Job summary

Maimonides Medical Center in New York, NY, seeks an experienced Radiologic Technologist to assist the Radiology Manager. You will supervise technical staff, coordinate workflow, and perform radiological procedures within your licensure and training scope.

Qualifications

  • ARRT Certification required or registry-eligible with active eligibility.
  • Current NYS license as a Registered Radiologic Technologist or Registry eligible and BCLS.
  • Graduation from AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology; good interpersonal skills and English proficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Directs and supervises technical personnel in Radiology under the Manager.
  • Coordinates work flow and ensures optimal patient throughput.
  • Assigns duties to technologists and monitors image quality.
  • Supervises OR control, ER, Cysto, and handles technical problems.
  • Performs radiological procedures within license scope and training level.
  • Ensures patient safety and minimizes hazards from radiation and electrical risks.
  • Assists in training of students and ancillary staff.
  • Tracks patient data and uses RIS, EMR, and transport systems.
  • Maintains inventory to support department operations.

Overview

Assists the Manager of Radiology in directing and supervising the work of all technical personnel. Coordinates work flow of department. Acts as first line manager to resolve issues.

Responsibilities
  • Works closely with management team in Radiology to ensure excellent patient flow and proper staffing
  • Assigns duties to all technologists and monitors image quality upon completion
  • Supervises OR control, ER, Cysto, and handles all technical problems
  • Performs all radiological procedures within the scope of license and realm of training
  • Responsible for the care and safety of patients undergoing treatment and use of equipment to minimize hazards of electric shock, burns and extraneous radiation to patients
  • Assists in training of students and ancillary personnel
  • Tracks patients and appropriately uses RIS (Radiology Information System, EMR and Patient Transport Tracking system
  • Patient care responsibilities are delivered with a knowledge of patient growth and development and are appropriate to the ages of the patients served
  • As required, transports patients to and from X-Ray Department
  • Interacts professionally with patients and families
  • Maintains appropriate inventory supply for efficient operation of Department / Division
Qualifications

Graduation from an AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology; ARR1T and current NYS license as a Registered Radiologic Technologist or Registry eligible. Current BCLS Certificate required (either American Red Cross or American Heart Association). New employees will be required to produce a current BCLS certificate within 6 months from date of hire. Good interpersonal skills. Speaks, reads and writes English to the extent required by the position. 2 years of experience required. Experience as Lead Technologist preferred.

Pay Range

USD $64.34 - USD $64.88 /Hr.
