At Fast Pace Urgent Care, X-Ray Techs provide clinical and administrative support essential for effective patient care under the supervision of a Provider, Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant. They ensure outstanding patient service, maintain a compassionate atmosphere, and respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment, including imaging. The X-Ray Tech also provides excellent customer service by using in-depth knowledge and effective communication with team members.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all responsibilities of Nurse/Clinical Tech and Patient Care Specialist roles as per their job descriptions.
  • Provide clinical and administrative support, adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and track X-ray orders for timely completion and submission.
  • Assist patients with proper positioning for exams to ensure diagnostic quality.
  • Conduct activities in compliance with department expectations and regulations, including HIPAA.
  • Review exam images for initial provider read.
  • Send final images for radiology over-read.
  • Label all images correctly with initialed lead markers indicating laterality.
  • Ensure no artifacts are present and proper technique is used; document any artifacts or patient inability to remove them.
  • Address minor maintenance issues with equipment and follow up with the nurse coordinator or Clinic Director as needed.
  • Monitor equipment condition, perform cleaning, and report issues promptly.
  • Maintain and distribute pregnancy waiver forms where applicable.
  • Perform triage tasks, including recording vitals, collecting clinical history, and performing blood draws, injections, and medication administration if permitted by state.
  • Monitor and record X-Ray badge usage monthly.
  • Wear radiation monitors at all times in the X-Ray room and report as required.
  • Complete mandatory compliance training and support new employee onboarding and training.
  • Maintain positive relations with colleagues and clients, fostering a friendly work environment.
  • Perform physical, sensory, cognitive, and environmental functions as specified in physical demands.
  • Adhere to company standards and core values of teamwork, communication, empowerment, quality of care, and friendliness.

Experience and Licensing Requirements

  • Active ARRT License (Registered Technologist) and State License (Registered Technologists and Limited Scope), verifiable and in good standing.
  • TB and IV Certification required within 60 days of employment if applicable.

Education and Experience Levels

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Various levels of experience and certification (Levels 1-5), with specific duties and requirements outlined per level, including experience in clinical settings, ultrasound procedures, and administrative duties.
