Job summary

AtlantiCare is seeking a full-time X-Ray Technologist in New Jersey to perform diagnostic imaging with supervision as directed by physicians. You will operate X-ray equipment, ensure patient safety, and maintain supplies while supporting student education where applicable.

The ideal candidate is ARRT(R) certified, NJ licensed, with BLS and at least 1 year of diagnostic imaging experience. Expect a fast-paced hospital environment with opportunities for professional growth.

Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

The X-Ray Technologist performs diagnostic testing according to established departmental procedures, ensuring the delivery of quality patient care. The X-Ray Technologist performs diagnostic testing as directed by the physician at a competent technical level not requiring constant supervision. This position operates diagnostic equipment, including peripheral equipment, in a safe and efficient manner to obtain optimal test results. The X-Ray Technologist manages the patient during the diagnostic procedure to meet patient care standards. This position ensures supplies are maintained and reports problems with equipment to the appropriate staff member. This position actively participates in and supports student clinical education activities where applicable. This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation.

QUALIFICATIONS LICENSE: Licensed by the State of New Jersey, Department of Environmental Protection and ARRT(R).

EXPERIENCE: Candidates must possess ability to multitask, with attention to fine detail in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in Clinical Applications preferred at time of hire; incumbents within position will be trained appropriately and then skill will be required for this position within 30-60 days from date of hire. NJDEP State License expires every two years and must be renewed biennially to work. ARRT expires on incumbents date of birth and must be renewed annually to work.

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS Demonstrates the ability to perform the department specific competencies as listed on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool.

WORK ENVIRONMENT Potential for exposure to the hazards and risk of the hospital environment, including exposure to infectious disease, blood-borne pathogens, potential injury, and hazardous substances, including electromagnetic radiation. Position requires the ability to stand a majority of the time; and require the ability to sit in front of a monitor much of the time. Position requires extensive pushing, pulling and lifting of patients and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. The department specific Assessment and Evaluation Tool lists the essential functions of this position.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP This position reports to the Radiology Manager. This position takes direction from the X-Ray Supervisor.

Pay Range: $33.16 - $49.75
