Job summary

American Family Care (AFC) in Bakersfield, CA is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform radiographic and other diagnostic imaging procedures to assist physicians in diagnosing injuries and disease. You will position patients, ensure ALARA radiation safety, process and prepare images for reading by physicians and radiologists, and support clinical and administrative tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
• ARRT-registered or board eligible preferred.
• Licensed per state regulation; in some states Medical Assistant certification may be acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and explain procedures compassionately.
• Position patients for diagnostic imaging procedures.
• Practice ALARA radiation protection techniques.
• Process and review images for proper identification and quality.
• Prepare images for reading by physicians and radiologists.
• Operate digital and non-digital imaging equipment in compliance with policies.
• Assist with administrative tasks such as patient registration and medical assisting duties.
• Maintain records and logs of work performed.
• Provide support as Medical Receptionist or Medical Assistant as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
