A leading healthcare provider is seeking an X-ray Technologist for their ambulatory clinic. Responsibilities include performing imaging procedures, maintaining patient records, and providing basic care. The ideal candidate will hold current A.R.R.T. registration and have relevant experience in a clinical setting.
X-ray Technologist Days Contract, StaffFlex Medical Group Carol Stream Ambulatory clinic
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Performs X-ray imaging procedures. Assist Radiologist in special procedures such as biopsies. Maintains records of examinations performed. Obtains and documents patient clinical history. Performs darkroom, clerical and transport functions. Participates in standby call. Performs basic patient care with scope of practice and to departmental standards. Assists in Radiology Department as needed. Responsibility to adhere to the Florida Hospital Corporate compliance plan, to the rules and regulations of all local, state, and Federal agencies, and to the standards of all accrediting bodies.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :
· Performs imaging procedures.
· Maintains records of examinations performed.
· Obtains and documents patient clinical history and explains procedure.
· Positions patients and equipment, and selects technical factors to produce procedure images and data as needed to meet radiologist standards.
· Sends images to QC station and then to PACS and archives images
· Enters patient demographic information into logs and system.
· Transports, lifts, moves and positions patients as needed to obtain images, transport patient to/from department, table or as otherwise needed for patient care.
· Moves and adjusts imaging equipment, including CT gantry, injector and MR coils.
· Prepares and administers contrast material for CT and MRI, including administration of oral and IV contrast per radiologist instructions and exam protocols.
· Performs direct patient care duties, within scope of practice, including assisting radiologist with interventional procedures such as biopsies or drainage procedures.
· Performs basic patient care including monitoring of patient condition and caring for patient safety and privacy. Obtains and documents patient history and explains procedure.
Schedule: 8am-4:30pm (Mon, Tue and Thu or if 36 hrs. is required Mon - Thu with half day on Friday)

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:
· Must be a graduate of an approved A.R.R.T. program with current A.R.R.T registration and state license in Radiography.
· CT/X-ray registered and two years' experience.
· IEMA required.
· BLS required.
