A busy Orthopedic practice in the greater St. Louis area is seeking a part-time X-ray Technologist. The role requires flexibility and involves taking radiographic images, ensuring the quality of x-rays, and engaging with patients. Ideal candidates will be certified through the ARRT and demonstrate compassion and effective communication skills. Opportunity for approximately 20-30 hours per week.

We are a very busy Orthopedic practice looking for a flexible 3+ days per week X-ray Technologist. Flexibility on days is a plus. Hours are beginning of clinic to end of clinic (7:30a-5:30p approx.)

Responsibilities:

• Verifying patients' identity and reviewing physicians’ orders before beginning x-ray procedures.
• Using x-ray equipment to take radiographic images of patients as per physicians’ written orders.
• Explain x-ray procedures and answering patient questions.
• Positioning patients accordingly, which may include lifting and moving patients with limited mobility.
• Effective use of lead shielding.
• Ensuring that the x-rays taken are of sound quality to prevent repeat procedures.
• Promptly notifying management of damaged or malfunctioning x-ray equipment.
• Maintaining an accurate record of completed x-ray procedures.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• Proven experience working as an X-ray technologist.
• Ability to move or lift patients.
• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• A patient and compassionate disposition.
