Job summary

OrthoSC seeks a Radiologic Technologist to join our clinical team in a full‑time capacity. The role involves preparing patients, positioning equipment, and ensuring quality images for diagnostic purposes as ordered by the physician.

Ideal candidates hold an Associates degree in Radiologic Technology with ARRT certification and SCQRSA licensure, and must comply with HIPAA and practice guidelines. Lift requirement up to 30 lbs and on-site work only.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Radiological Technology is required.
• Completion of an accredited radiology program and active ARRT license.
• Valid SCQRSA license and compliance knowledge expected.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patients for radiological imaging procedures.
• Position x-ray equipment and adjust exposure factors.
• Position patient to obtain optimum view as requested by physician.
• Use beam-restrictive devices and shielding to minimize exposure.
• Clean procedure rooms, instruments and equipment between visits.
• Process exposed radiographs using film processors or computer methods.
• Maintain radiographic supplies and orders as necessary.
• Ensure patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.

Description

Summary/Objective

Maintain and use equipment and supplies necessary to demonstrate portions of the human body on x-ray film or fluoroscopic screen for diagnostic purposes, as ordered by the physician.

Essential FunctionsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

• Prepares patients for radiological imaging procedures.
• Position x-ray equipment and adjust controls to set exposure factors, such as time and distance.
• Position patient on examining table and set up and adjust equipment to obtain optimum view of specific body area as requested by physician.
• Use beam-restrictive devices and patient-shielding techniques to minimize radiation exposure to patient and staff.
• Cleans procedure rooms, instruments, and equipment between patient visits.
• Process exposed radiographs using film processors or computer-generated methods.
• Maintains radiographic supplies and orders as necessary.
• Ensures patient confidentiality and complies with HIPAA and compliance guidelines established by OrthoSC
• Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.

Work EnvironmentThis job operates in a professional clinical environment. This position will not and may not act independently.

Physical DemandsVaried activities including walking, reaching, bending, lifting. Does require standing and walking for long periods of time. Assists with the transfer of patients, must be able to lift up to 30 lbs.

Position Type and Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday 8:00am-8:00pm and Saturday and Sunday 10:00am-2:00pm/

TravelOccasional travel to other OrthoSC locations may be required as needed.

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent

Required qualifications

• Associates degree in Radiological Technology
• Completion of an accredited radiology/active license (ARRT)
• Valid SCQRSA (SC Radiation Quality Standards Association) license
