Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Verify patient identity and review physician orders before x-ray procedures.
  • Perform radiographic imaging as per physicians’ orders.
  • Explain x-ray procedures to patients and answer questions.
  • Position patients and assist with moving those with limited mobility.
  • Limit radiation exposure with shielding as appropriate.
  • Ensure high-quality x-rays and minimize repeats.
  • Collaborate with radiologists to determine if additional tests are needed.
  • Maintain x-ray equipment and report any malfunctions.
  • Maintain accurate records of completed procedures.
  • Assist with examinations, procedures, and treatments.
  • Prepare examination rooms, keep them clean and stocked.
  • Educate patients on treatment plans and preventive measures.
  • Schedule appointments and manage patient records.
  • Assist with administrative tasks like phone calls and documentation.
  • Coordinate with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Radiologic Technologist to join our healthcare team. This position will primarily be an X-Ray technologist and may also assist the physicians with medical assistant tasks. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the well-being of patients and gain valuable experience in the medical field.

This position REQUIRES that you are a Registered Radiologic Technologist. Fluoroscopy experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities:

  • Verifying patients’ identity and reviewing physicians’ orders before beginning x-ray procedures.

  • Using x-ray equipment to take radiographic images of patients’ bones, tissues, and organs as per physicians’ written orders.

  • Explaining x-ray procedures to patients and answering their questions.

  • Positioning patients, accordingly, which may include lifting and moving patients with limited mobility.

  • Limiting patients’ exposure to radiation by placing lead shields on patients where needed.

  • Ensuring that the x-rays taken are of sound quality to prevent repeat procedures.

  • Working closely with the resident Radiologist to determine whether further tests are required.

  • Ensuring that the x-ray equipment is regularly serviced and in good working order.

  • Promptly notifying management of damaged or malfunctioning x-ray equipment.

  • Maintaining an accurate record of completed x-ray procedures.

  • Assist healthcare professionals with examinations, procedures, and treatments.

  • Prepare examination rooms and ensure they are clean, stocked, and organized.

  • Provide patient education on treatment plans, medications, and preventive measures.

  • Schedule appointments, manage patient records, and maintain accurate documentation.

  • Assist with medical administrative tasks such as answering phone calls, scheduling appointments, and managing patient records.

  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • American Registry Radiologic Technologist Registered ARRT (R) Required.

  • Previous experience in a hospital or clinical setting is highly desirable.

  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to provide exceptional patient service.

  • Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

  • Strong organizational skills to manage administrative tasks effectively.

  • Fluoroscopy experience in a pain management O.R. setting preferred but not required.
