Job summary

Job description

JOB TITLE: Radiologic Technologist


GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: To provide the highest level of service to Center for Orthopaedics' Imaging Center patients. Prepares and performs standard Radiologic examinations on patients while maintaining ALARA. Operates X-ray equipment and Bone Density Scanner (DEXA), process images, prepares patient rooms, maintains supplies and medications, and completes all documentation. Hours for this full time position are Monday - Friday 12:00pm - 8:30 pm.


SUPERVISION REQUIRED: Administrator


SUPERVISION EXERCISED: This position does not supervise any employees.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Perform X-ray procedures as ordered by referring providers.
  2. Performs Bone Density Scans (DEXA) as ordered by referring providers.
  3. Ensure that the patient's and physician's needs are met.
  4. Ensure that all duties are performed in an efficient manner and in compliance with regulations.
  5. Completes all procedures in PACS and ensures that all images are of good quality.
  6. Assist MRI Technologist screen and assist patients as needed.
  7. Monitor equipment performance and notifies the supervisor of any repair assistance needed.
  8. Performs other tasks as assigned.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  1. High School diploma or equivalent
  2. ARRT registered and LA state license required
  3. Bachelor Degree preferred

EXPERIENCE: Previous radiology experience preferred but not required.
