At Fast Pace Urgent Care, X-Ray Techs provide essential clinical and administrative support for effective patient care under the supervision of a Provider, Nurse Practitioner, or Physician Assistant. They deliver outstanding patient service, maintain a compassionate and welcoming atmosphere, and respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition or response to treatment, including imaging. The X-Ray Tech will also ensure effective communication and support for all internal and external customers, utilizing in-depth knowledge and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Fulfill all responsibilities of Nurse/Clinical Tech and Patient Care Specialist roles as detailed in their respective job descriptions.
• Provide clinical and administrative support, adhering to company policies and procedures.
• Monitor and track X-ray orders for timely completion and submission.
• Assist patients with proper positioning during exams to ensure diagnostic quality.
• Conduct activities in compliance with department expectations and regulations, including HIPAA.
• Review exam images for initial provider review.
• Send final images for radiology overread.
• Accurately label images with correct laterality using lead markers.
• Ensure no artifacts are present and proper technique is used, documenting any issues.
• Address minor maintenance issues and coordinate with the nurse or clinic director for repairs.
• Maintain and monitor equipment condition, ensuring cleanliness and functionality.
• Manage pregnancy waiver forms as applicable.
• Perform triage tasks, including vitals, clinical history, blood draws, injections, and medication administration when appropriate.
• Monitor X-Ray badge usage and report as required.
• Complete mandatory compliance training.
• Assist in onboarding new employees and facilitate their integration into the team.
• Support training and coaching for new staff.
• Maintain friendly and professional relations with colleagues and patients.
• Perform physical, sensory, cognitive, and environmental functions as required.
• Adhere to company standards and core values of teamwork, communication, empowerment, quality care, and friendliness.

Experience Requirements and Preferences

Current License or Certification:

• ARRT License (Registered Technologist)
• State License (Registered Technologists and Limited Scope)
• License must be active, in good standing, and verifiable.
• TB and IV Certification required within 60 days of employment, maintained during employment if applicable.

Additional Requirements for Full Scope X-Ray Only:

• Level 1: High school diploma or equivalent, current CPR, and at least 1 year of experience as a certified RT(R) or limited scope x-ray tech, preferably in urgent care.

• Level 2: Certified RTR, current CPR, over 1 year and less than 3 years of direct patient care experience as an RTR.

• Additional Requirements for Ancillary Roles:
• Certified RTR with current CPR and over 1 year of experience, evaluated for level 3 after 6 months.

• Level 3: Certified RTR, current CPR, over 3 years and less than 7 years of experience, with responsibilities including increased X-ray volume, splinting, casting, and ultrasound procedures.

• Level 4 & 5: Similar to Level 3 but with over 7 years of experience, including additional duties like administration, scheduling, and training.

License Requirements:

Limited Scope X-Ray Technologist License, ARRT Certification, Full Scope State License
