Job summary

AdventHealth Ocala in Florida seeks a Radiologic Technologist to prepare patients, operate radiographic equipment, and ensure safety and quality standards in diagnostic imaging. This role requires good communication, the ability to float to other FHMG practices, and adherence to infection control and regulatory guidelines.

The position offers day shifts in a PRN schedule with competitive pay and benefits; required licenses include BLS CPR and Basic X-Ray Machine Operator (BMO) with an associate

Qualifications

• Willing to float to other FHMG practices when necessary
• Clear communication in English (written and spoken)

Responsibilities

• Prepares patients for radiologic procedures and protects patients and staff from radiation hazards.
• Takes x-rays following established procedures for patient care and safety, including setting up and operating radiographic equipment and infection control.
• Selects proper ionizing factors for radiological diagnosis and adjusts radiographic controls.
• Positions patients and takes x-rays of specified parts of the body as requested by physician.
• Processes film and checks x-rays for image clarity; retakes when needed.
• Maintains x-ray film files and ensures reports/films are available for physicians.
• Keeps daily logs and monthly reports; maintains required records.
• Performs quality and quantity control checks to ensure the x-ray unit meets standards.
• Reports equipment malfunctions; maintains darkroom and x-ray room cleanliness.
• Stocks supplies and verifies charges on x-ray, treatments and procedures.
• Ensures equipment complies with state regulations and company policies.
