Job summary

CareNow, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking an X-Ray Technician - Medical Assistant in Austin. The role combines radiologic and patient-care duties, including vital signs, EKGs, front-desk support and room preparation, to support providers and nursing staff.

You will join a collaborative clinic team with opportunities to obtain required certifications within timelines; strong emphasis on patient satisfaction and accurate record-keeping. A sign-on bonus up to $1,000 is offered to new hires.

Qualifications

• High School graduate as required by the state.
• Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Services required.
• Graduate of an accredited school of Medical Assistants or completion of an approved program (BOTP) is preferred.
• Limited Medical Radiology Technologist (LMRT) license in state of residency
• 1+ year of clinical experience in a patient care setting is beneficial
• Ability to obtain a BLS Certification is required within 30 days of start
• Must obtain a Federal Breath Alcohol Screening Certification and Federal Drug Screening Certification within 3 months of employment or promotion

Responsibilities

• Performs various clinical duties in support of providers and Nursing staff including taking vital signs, patient history, lab specimens and EKGs; may apply splints, dressings and bandages; prepares, maintains and cleans exam rooms.
• Will check patients in and out of the computer and may assist the Patient Representative in the performance of front desk duties.
• Will assist with front desk duties to include greeting patients, checking patients in/out of computer, End of Day close out procedures, patient interactions, lobby checks and records release.
• Maintains records and logs on activities including inhouse lab work, drug screens and lab work sent out to other labs.
• Performs equipment and supply audits as scheduled.
• Works closely with the Center Manager, Medical Staff, Front Desk Coordinator and all clinic staff to maintain smooth operations and high customer satisfaction
