The X Ray Limited Scope & Medical Support Specialist performs routine x-ray, medical, and testing procedures under direct supervision of the treating clinician, and supports in other areas of the facility as needed including registration and referral management. This position will also perform routine X-ray examinations in accordance with Concentra policies, practices, and procedures and applicable regulations. This role requires efficient and accurate delivery of one-on-one patient care while thriving in a fast-paced environment. Also, will ensure that every patient is treated with quality clinical care and receives an excellent patient experience from welcoming, respectful, and skillful colleagues.

Responsibilities

X-ray Technician Duties

• Prepare patients for radiologic procedures, escort them to dressing and x-ray rooms, provide instructions, and assist in positioning body parts for radiography. Explain procedures and observe patients for safety and comfort during the x-ray exam.
• Operate radiologic equipment to produce diagnostic images, adjusting controls according to examination specifications. Take x-rays following established requirements and regulations to ensure safety.
• Use radiation safety measures and protection devices to ensure safety of patients and team members.
• Ensure radiologic equipment remains in working order, report malfunctions.
• Follow radiology workflows, ensure correct radiology reports in EMR, and complete documentation related to patient x-ray visits.
• Maintain all x-ray equipment, including calibration, QA/QC procedures, and record keeping per current policies.

Medical Support Specialist Duties

• Perform DOT and Non-DOT drug and alcohol testing.
• Prepare patients for examinations, including vital signs and ancillary testing (vaccines, phlebotomy, PFTs, audiograms, respirator fit testing).
• Perform rapid screening tests (influenza, strep, mono, glucose, etc.).
• Assist providers during examinations and treatments, perform routine procedures, triage emergent patients, assist with injury care, and apply bandages, dressings, and splints.
• Dispense medications and DME as ordered, perform QA activities, maintain supplies, and ensure cleanliness.
• Maintain and operate medical devices, notify supervisor of issues, assist with patient flow, and handle clerical tasks, ensuring documentation accuracy.
• Follow HIPAA and safety guidelines, attend staff meetings, and maintain a neat appearance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Completion of state-approved Limited Scope Technician certification and licensing if applicable.
• CPR/First Aid Certification.

Experience & Skills

• At least six months of medical assistant experience, familiarity with medical procedures and terminology.
• Experience in X-Ray and routine medical procedures.
• Knowledge of occupational medicine requirements preferred.
• Core competencies: Service Mentality, Attention to Detail, Urgency, Initiative, Flexibility.
• Strong customer service, confidentiality, communication skills, and teamwork.
• Certifications in Drug Screen Collection, Breath Alcohol, etc., and intermediate MS Office skills.
