Lifepoint Health® is seeking a dedicated Xray Technician II for UP Health System Bell located in Michigan. This union role focuses on delivering exceptional patient care through various imaging modalities, including mammography and CT scans.

Mammography. This position is a union role: BMH USW Steelworkers. UP Health System Bell Xray Technician II Mammography. This position is a union role: BMH USW Steelworkers. Schedule: 0.8 FTE, 32 hours per week. Varied shifts. On call and weekend rotation. This position is eligible for a $7,500 sign-on bonus for eligible external candidates.

How You'll Contribute

• Performs mammography exams in accordance with department protocols and procedures and within national standards timeframes.
• Performs mammography quality control and quality assurance functions required for mammography.
• Receives patients, explains method of procedure and ensures patient comfort.
• Provides patient services to all ages using imaging modalities.
• Operates radiology equipment to perform clinical diagnostic radiology exams and routine invasive procedures according to established standards and practices.
• Maintains equipment and supplies and organizes work area.
• Keeps accurate records, helps with scheduling of ultrasound and maintains smooth patient flow.
• Follows established policies and procedures, objectives, safety standards, and confidentiality requirements.
• Willing and able to demonstrate appropriate core competencies annually or as requested.
• Performs all general radiography procedures, including development of films and preparation of contrast media as appropriate.
• Performs nuclear medicine procedures in compliance with departmental procedures and applicable NRC regulations.
• Performs all quality assurance protocols associated with equipment and radionuclides.
• Performs diagnostic ultrasound examinations in accordance with department protocols and procedures.
• Performs CT examinations in accordance with departmental procedures within national standards timeframes and performs CT quality control and quality assurance functions.
• Orients patients to procedures, obtains patient history and verifies informed consent.
• Transports patients to and from the department.

What We're Looking For

• Graduate of AMA-approved school of radiological technology.
• Required: ARRT registered or eligible. Primary Source Verification: American Registry for Radiologic Technologists.
• Certification in Ultrasound, CT, Mammography, and Dexascan.
• Additional training in Nuclear Medicine preferred.
• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
