Job Overview

The X‑Ray Technician is a trained medical professional performing radiological duties in compliance with regulatory and departmental requirements.

Responsibilities

• Position patient under X‑ray machine, adjust immobilization devices, and provide radiation protection.
• Adjust switches regulating length and intensity of exposure.
• Assist physicians with patient care activities such as procedures, EKGs, phlebotomy, and injections.
• Prepare reports and maintain records of services rendered.
• Maintain radiological film files and storage, pull X‑rays as required for referrals or copying.
• Keep logs for X‑rays sent out for referrals and consolidate logs.
• Maintain supplies, equipment, practice OSHA safety standards, and document accurately, legally, and ethically.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Criteria

• Graduate from an accredited Radiological Technology program or Basic X‑Ray Machine Operator required.
• Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
• Minimum 1 year X‑ray technologist experience in a healthcare environment required; 2 years preferred.
• Licensed and/or certified if required by state regulations.
• EMR system experience preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required within 90 days of employment.

Compensation

Pay range: $23.30 – $33.25 per hour.
