Job summary

LifePoint Health is seeking an X-ray Technician (PRN, weekend availability) for the Lawrenceburg, TN area. You will perform imaging procedures, review orders, educate patients, monitor status, and ensure quality and safety on all exams.

This role requires ARRT licensure or registry eligibility with a 6-month registration window, BLS certification, and a radiologic technology credential. New grads are welcome, with 6 months preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Radiologic Technology program (required).
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) (required).
• ARRT certification in Radiography (required) or registry eligible; must attain within 6 months of employment.
• State Medical X-Ray Operator License (required).
• New Rad Tech Graduates considered; 6 months Rad Tech experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review patient history and physician orders.
• Educate patient about procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure understanding and cooperation; administer contrast/media when ordered.
• Monitor patient condition continuously and report changes as appropriate.
• Prepare equipment and supplies; select exposure factors and imaging parameters.
• Apply safety standards and perform quality control procedures on equipment; troubleshoot and report malfunctions.
• Position patient and perform imaging procedures; analyze results and address image quality issues.

How you’ll contribute:

Perform various imaging procedures in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice

Essential Functions:

• Reviews patient history and physician's orders.
• Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation. When ordered, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice.
• Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate.
• Prepares equipment and supplies. Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters.
• Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment. Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.

• Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s). Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results.
• Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedures.

Qualifications and requirements:

Education:Graduate of a Program in Discipline (Radiologic Technology) - Required

Certifications:BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)

Licenses:American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography - Required or registry eligible. If registry eligible, must attain registration within 6 months of employment. State Medical X-Ray Operator License - Required

Work Experience:New Rad Tech Graduates considered.6 months experience as Rad Tech - Preferred
