Job summary

Lifepoint Health’s First Choice Health in Southern Tennessee, Lawrenceburg, seeks an X-ray Technician (PRN with weekend availability) to join our radiology team. You’ll perform imaging procedures, verify orders, ensure patient safety, and deliver high-quality exams in a fast-paced setting.

Requirements include graduation from a Radiologic Technology program, ARRT Radiography license or eligibility (within 6 months), and BLS certification. New grads welcome; weekend coverage essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Radiologic Technology program.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
• ARRT Radiography license or eligibility; if eligible, must attain registration within 6 months of employment.
• State Medical X-Ray Operator License required.
• New Rad Tech graduates considered; 6 months experience as Rad Tech preferred.

Responsibilities

• Reviews patient history and physician's orders.
• Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam; prepares and administers contrast media/medications within scope.
• Monitors patient condition and reports changes as appropriate.
• Prepares equipment and supplies; selects exposure factors and imaging parameters.
• Implements safety standards and performs quality control on equipment; troubleshoots malfunctions.
• Positions patient and performs imaging procedures; analyzes results and addresses image quality issues.

How You’ll Contribute

Perform various imaging procedures in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice

Essential Functions

• Reviews patient history and physician's orders.
• Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation. When ordered, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice.
• Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate.
• Prepares equipment and supplies. Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters.
• Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment. Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.

• Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s). Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results.
• Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedures.

Qualifications And Requirements

Education: Graduate of a Program in Discipline (Radiologic Technology) - Required

Certifications: BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)

Licenses: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography - Required or registry eligible. If registry eligible, must attain registration within 6 months of employment. State Medical X-Ray Operator License - Required

Work Experience: New Rad Tech Graduates considered.6 months experience as Rad Tech - Preferred
