Job summary

Prime Healthcare's Student Radiology Technologist position at Pampa Regional Medical Center in Pampa, TX offers per diem scheduling. Students assist licensed radiologic technologists with positioning, imaging, and safety, and gain PACS experience.

Responsibilities include positioning, imaging, ALARA safety, equipment operation, image processing, and teamwork with radiologists and nurses to ensure quality diagnostic imaging while pursuing training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Currently attending an accredited health care educational program for radiologic technology.
• Meet state requirements for exemption from licensing to operate x-ray equipment.
• Completion of their first-year curriculum requirements.
• Current BCLS (AHA).
• At least one year of clinical experience in the radiology technologist program required.

Responsibilities

• Position patients for X-rays and ensure their comfort and safety.
• Assist in capturing high-quality diagnostic images under supervision.
• Follow ALARA principles to minimize radiation exposure.
• Learn to use and maintain radiographic machines and digital imaging systems.
• Assist in processing and reviewing images using PACS.
