Job Summary:

The X-Ray Technician operates X-ray and fluoroscopic equipment to assist radiologists and physicians in diagnosing and treating diseases or injuries.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Prepare patients for radiologic procedures.
  2. Protect patients, staff, and self from radiation hazards.
  3. Perform X-rays following established safety and patient care procedures, including infection control.
  4. Select appropriate ionizing factors and adjust radiographic controls.
  5. Position patients and capture X-rays as requested by physicians.
  6. Develop and review radiographic films, retaking images when necessary.
  7. Distribute X-rays to medical staff.
  8. Maintain records, including patient files, logs, and reports.
  9. Conduct quality control checks to ensure equipment meets legal and departmental standards.
  10. Comply with safety standards and perform routine equipment maintenance.
  11. Manage supplies and order materials as needed.
  12. Perform additional duties as assigned.
